The Three Butterflies

Three butterflies fly together. One butterfly is bright red. One butterfly is sunny yellow. One butterfly is soft white. They are very good friends. They dance in the air. The sun is warm today.

Big gray clouds come fast. Soft rain starts to fall. The butterflies get very wet. Their wings feel very heavy. They need a dry spot. They fly to a flower. The rain goes pitter-patter.

They see a red flower. "Can we stay here?" "Only the red one fits." Red Butterfly shakes her head. "I will stay outside." "We must stay together." They fly into the rain.

They see a yellow flower. "May we hide here?" "Only the yellow one fits." Yellow Butterfly shakes her head. "I will not go." "We are best friends." The three butterflies stay together.

The warm sun looks down. He sees the three friends. He chases the rain away. The sun dries their wings. Now all the flowers open. The friends dance together. They are very happy now.
