The Tiger and the Dried Persimmon

A big tiger lives high. He walks down the hill. He is a hungry tiger. He looks for some food. He sees a small house. The night is very dark. He is a brave tiger. He wants to be scary.

Inside, a little baby cries. Waa! Waa! the baby goes. The tiger listens very closely. Mother says, "Stop crying, baby." "The big wolf is here!" The baby keeps on crying. Waa! Waa! the baby goes. The tiger is very surprised.

Mother says, "Stop crying now." "A big bear is here!" The baby keeps on crying. Waa! Waa! the baby goes. The tiger shakes his head. "I am scarier than bears." The tiger waits and waits. He wants to be scary.

Then Mother has a treat. "Look! A dried persimmon!" The baby stops crying now. The baby is very quiet. The room is very still. The tiger jumps with fear. "What is a dried persimmon?" "Is it a big monster?"

The tiger runs away fast. He runs to the trees. He hides in his cave. The tiger is very afraid. "The persimmon is very scary!" He does not come back. The baby eats the fruit. It is a sweet treat.
