The Three Fish

Three fish live together. They live in a pond. The pond is very blue. Wise Fish hears a sound. Men are coming to fish. He tells his dear friends. "We must leave now," he says. Wise Fish is very ready.

Wise Fish swims away fast. He swims to a river. The river leads to safety. He finds a new home. The water is deep here. He waits for his friends. Wise Fish planned ahead. He feels safe and happy.

Clever Fish stays behind. The big net comes down. The net is very heavy. Clever Fish is very brave. He stays very, very still. He looks like a leaf. The net misses the leaf. He swims to the river.

Lazy Fish does not move. The gentle net scoops him. The fisherman looks at him. He is a small fish. "You are too tiny," he says. "You are too cute today." The fisherman lets him go. Lazy Fish swims very fast.

The three friends meet again. The new pond is big. The water is very clear. They play in the sun. Lazy Fish learns a lesson. It is good to plan. They are all safe now. The three fish are happy.
