Little Red Hen found seeds. The seeds were golden wheat. Who will help me plant? Not I, said the Cat. Not I, said the Dog. Not I, said the Duck. I will do it alone. The little seeds grew tall.

The wheat was very yellow. Who will help me cut? Not I, said the Cat. Not I, said the Dog. Not I, said the Duck. Hen cut the wheat alone. Who will help me mill? Not I, they all said.

Hen made some white flour. Who will help me bake? Not I, said the friends. Hen mixed the warm dough. She put it inside. The kitchen smelled so good. The bread was big and brown.

Who will eat this bread? I will, said the Cat. I will, said the Dog. I will, said the Duck. Hen smiled at her friends. She gave them a piece. The bread was soft and warm. The friends felt very sad.

We are sorry, they said. We want to help now. They all found more seeds. Cat helped plant the seeds. Dog helped cut the wheat. Duck helped make the flour. They baked a giant loaf. Working together is very fun.
