The Lion and the Mouse

Lion is very big. He lives in the grass. Lion likes to sleep. He takes a long nap. A tiny mouse runs by. Mouse jumps on his nose. Lion wakes up now. He looks at the mouse.

Lion catches the tiny mouse. Lion has a big paw. 'Please let me go,' Mouse says. 'I can help you later.' Lion laughs a big laugh. 'You are a tiny mouse.' Lion is very kind today. He lets the mouse go.

Lion walks in the grass. A big net falls down. Lion is stuck inside. He cannot get out. Lion roars a loud roar. He feels very sad now. He feels all alone.

Mouse hears the loud roar. She runs to help Lion. Mouse sees the big net. She has sharp little teeth. Mouse bites the strong rope. She bites them one by one. The ropes start to break. Mouse is a hard worker.

The big net falls away. Lion is free at last. Lion is very happy now. 'Thank you, friend,' Lion says. 'You are a great helper.' Even small friends are big. They walk together now. They are the best friends.
