The Lion's Share

Four friends walk together today. Lion is big and strong. Donkey is fast and grey. Wolf has a bushy tail. Fox has soft red fur. They look for sweet treats. They find a green meadow. The meadow is very big.

They see many red berries. They see many blue berries. The fruit smells very sweet. Lion picks the big fruit. Fox picks the small fruit. Wolf helps pick the berries. Donkey carries the heavy fruit. They have a huge pile.

Lion looks at the pile. Lion says, "I am big." He takes a big share. He takes the sweet fruit. Wolf feels very sad now. Donkey feels very sad too. They worked hard all day. The pile is now small.

Fox looks at big Lion. "We all worked hard," Fox says. Fox says, "We are friends." Donkey helped with the fruit. Wolf helped with the berries. Lion looks at his friends. Lion says, "I am sorry." He sees their sad faces.

Lion shares the sweet fruit. He gives berries to Donkey. He gives berries to Wolf. He gives berries to Fox. They have a happy picnic. The fruit tastes very good. Everyone has a full belly. Sharing makes the friends happy.
