The Frog Prince

Princess Lily had a golden ball. She played near a deep pond. The sun made the water glow. Lily tossed her ball very high. It was a shimmering golden toy. Suddenly, the ball fell into water. Lily began to cry very loudly.

A green frog heard her cry. He made a very loud splash. The frog had big, silly eyes. He asked why Lily was sad. Lily wanted her golden ball back. The frog offered to help her. He was a very helpful frog.

The frog made a small bargain. He wanted to be her friend. Lily must share her tiny dinner. She must let him visit often. Lily said yes to the frog. She just wanted her ball back. She did not mean her words.

The frog dove into the pond. He found the ball very fast. He gave the ball to Lily. Lily grabbed it and ran away. She soon vanished into the castle. She forgot about the poor frog. She did not keep her word.

At dinner, someone knocked loudly now. A tiny voice called Lily’s name. It was the little green frog. He asked to come inside now. Lily looked at her wise father. The King spoke with much gentleness. He asked about her little friend.

Lily told her father the truth. She felt bad about her lie. The King smiled at his daughter. A promise is a special thing. An honest person keeps their word. Lily opened the big castle door. The frog hopped onto the table.

The frog ate some sweet peas. He told many funny, silly jokes. Lily laughed and her father chuckled. They played a game of cards. The frog was a clever friend. Lily started to like his company. She was glad he stayed tonight.

They read many stories together now. The frog was very kindhearted indeed. Lily shared all of her toys. She was happy she stayed honest. The frog was her best friend. They played in the castle garden. Friendship felt better than a ball.

Suddenly, the frog began to glow. His green skin turned into gold. He stood up tall and straight. He was a prince once more. His eyes twinkled with great joy. The magic spell was finally over. True friendship had broken the curse.

The Prince thanked Princess Lily now. She was a very good friend. They played with the ball together. Lily learned a very big lesson. A promise is a true treasure. Being honest makes the heart happy. They stayed best friends forever.
